What are the Advantages of Vinyl Flooring?

So you’ve decided to rip up the old flooring and lay down a new one in your home. What type will you choose and how much are you prepared to spend on it?

These are valid questions to ask when you’re thinking about laying a new floor. Certain rooms in your home might present you with more choices on the type of flooring you could lay there too. When we’re talking about the bathroom, the kitchen and even the utility room, vinyl flooring offers a solution with lots of advantages to consider.

You can cut it to fit quite easily

Of course any flooring can be cut to fit the room it must go into. But vinyl flooring is easier to cut than solid wood or even carpet.

This is good to know if you happen to be putting it into a bathroom for example, where you will need to cut it cleanly to fit it around the toilet and the sink. This can also make it easier to fit by yourself if you don’t want to pay a professional to come and do it for you. However the pros are usually recommended if you want the best possible finish.

Easy to clean

Vinyl is amazingly easy to clean and it doesn’t matter if you mop it or get it wet. Obviously there is no need to soak it but you can mop it quite happily, unlike hardwood or laminate floors. In addition it can easily be swept on a regular basis to keep it looking good.

Plenty of amazing styles and designs to choose from

If you have trouble finding a vinyl design you like, you’re not looking in the right place! Vinyl has so many different and diverse styles that it’s easy to find one that will match in with your décor.

Will you select tiles or sheets?

Vinyl flooring is available to buy on rolls or in sheets as well as in individual tiles. This means you can choose how many joins you want to have on your floor. If you opt for tiles they are even easier to install by yourself. Simply butt them up next to each other; once they’re properly fixed they’ll look great. Alternatively you can buy one or more large rolls of vinyl to cover your floor space.

Various price points available to choose from as well

As with most types of flooring you can either go for the cheap end of the vinyl products or the more expensive end. It’s plain to say that the more you invest in your choice of vinyl, the better the quality will be. Try and go for the best you can in order to get the results you want. Remember that better quality vinyl is likely to last for longer as well so you will get your money’s worth.

All that remains now is to decide whether vinyl is for you – and if it is which one to go for.
