What Are Causes of Uneven Flooring?

Because your floors should be smooth for easy walking, uneven concrete flooring can cause tripping and falling, so it's important to make sure that your floors are safe. Once you know the top causes of uneven flooring, you can make sure that your own floors are safe for family and friends.

There are not many things that can cause uneven flooring but there are major ones. Causes of uneven flooring can range from shoddy workmanship, uneven support structure, shifting of the land due to climatic changes and settling of your home.

Uneven concrete flooring more often than not is the result of shoddy workmanship. If your foundation is properly dug, your flooring should be of no issue. Concrete flooring can either be on columns or on a solid foundation and might be precast. A precast floor is made up of a number of precast slabs fitted together. A layer of concrete is then poured over to create the internal flooring.

To get this as level as possible, a professional mason should be on hand to make good with the use of a level line. The same process applies to making good of flooring on a solid foundation. The top of the foundation which is filled with aggregate is then covered with concrete and graded to a smooth even level and made good for whatever you decide to install upon it.
